Wild at Art announced today that this year they are bringing the music to the people - where they eat, drink and congregate. A number of Squamish restaurants and pubs have been selected to host live music during the 2009 festival as part of a pilot test for 2010. 'Depending on community response, Wild at Art might expand programming to include all restaurants and pubs in Squamish,' said festival music CD production coordinator Kyle Coulter. 'Let's get ready to host a real party during the Olympics!'

Dance, music, art, theatre, song, or craft are integral components to learning and development. With community encouragement and ongoing educational programs, our youth have the potential to establish themselves as successful actors, playwrights, creative directors, famous artists or even rock stars!

Squamish, British Columbia – February 2, 2009: The Squamish Wild at Art Festival announced today that they have produced a music CD, with support from Tourism Squamish and Greg Gardner GM Motors. Encapsulating the community through both visual art and music, the CD is called ‘Local Colour.’ The festival CD retails for $10 and is on sale at the Squamish Adventure Centre and at other businesses throughout the community. All proceeds from the CD will go towards funding more community arts projects during the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Squamish, British Columbia – January 30, 2009: Today, the Wild at Art festival art gallery announced the theme ‘Local Colour’ for their 2009 art exhibition at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park. The word ‘colour’ encapsulates the expression of our local culture, heritage, landscape, people or recreation of Squamish. ‘Anything that’s truly local is a source of inspiration,’ said gallery Curator Judy McQuinn.

Squamish, British Columbia – January 30, 2009: The truth is out! The roaming mystery buskers that will soon start busking around Squamish have been revealed as none other than the crew of Between Shifts Theatre!

Wild at Art announced today that they have enlisted the help of Between Shifts Theatre to coordinate a crew of dynamic actors to entertain unsuspecting people throughout Squamish during the week leading up to the 2009 festival.

Squamish, British Columbia – January 24, 2009: Sunday, March 8th, 2009 is the Wild at Art Festival WORKSHOP DAY featuring a line of free workshops, roundtables, and panel discussions that are directed at individuals in the arts. The workshop schedule runs from 10 am to 4 pm in the : Royal Bank Education Room at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park. The workshops are inclusive to adults and youth who seek growth and development in the arts.

‘What better way to elevate the arts community in Squamish than to offer a series of free ‘How To’ workshops that focus on the business side of the arts,’ said Sonja Lebans, President of the Wild at Art Festival.

Presented by Squamish's Wild at Art Festival and Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad, this adult-only entertaining and hilarious improv uses audience suggestions to create a series of skits. For 60 minutes master comedy improvisers from the Vancouver Theatre Sports League will push audience ideas to the extreme! This remarkable and dynamic theatre league has received 6 International Comedy Awards and has starred in several television specials.

Squamish, BC, November 9, 2008 – Squamish’s Wild at Art Festival officially awards $1000 to Dana-Marie for her song ‘The Changing Valley’ for the Local Colour singer / song writer contest. The check will be awarded to Dana-Marie on March 6th during the Wild at Art festival gala grand opening at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park.
